LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (February 14, 2014) – The Men's Tennis team picked up a season-opening win at Le Moyne College this evening, coming out on top with an 8-1 victory.
Sophomore
Charles Farres led the Redhawks with a win at second singles, defeating Le Moyne's Shane Evans 6-2, 6-1.
Farres also teamed up with
Sam Thorold at first doubles, picking up an 8-3 win over the Dolphins' James Gayvert and Benjamin Spoor.
Thorold was also triumphant at third singles as he edged Spoor 6-3, 6-2.
At first singles,
Beka Buchukuri lost a hard fought match to Gayvert, losing 6-3, 3-6, 2-6.
Roberts Wesleyan is now 1-1 on the year in just their second dual match of 2013-14. They are back in action on Saturday as they travel south to take on Elmira College at 1pm.
