ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 21, 2014) – The Men's Basketball team fell this evening to the University of Bridgeport, 64-56, in East Coast Conference action.
The Redhawks jumped out to a quick 9-1 lead, but poor shooting doomed the home team for most of the game.
After trailing 24-18 with 3:56 remaining in the first half, Bridgeport used a 24-4 run over the next 11 minutes to secure the lead for good, propelling them to their seventh straight win.
Roberts Wesleyan especially struggled at the free-throw line, hitting just 9 of 22.
Freshman guard
Jamaal Carter has a solid night for the home team, scoring 14 points after going 6 of 10 from the field and 2 of 4 from beyond the arc. The 14 points is just two points shy of his season-high 16 points, which was back on Jan. 28 at Daemen College.
Fellow guard
William Bromirski added 13 points to go along with four assists in the game. The sophomore hit three from long range and was 4 of 6 at the line.
Isaac Medeiros added 12 points while picking up the double-double with 11 rebounds.
The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 10-13 overall and 6-11 in the East Coast Conference. They close out the home portion of the schedule tomorrow at 4pm when they host Dowling College.
