Men's Basketball Falls in Hard Fought Over Time Game Against Mercy

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. (February 28, 2014) - The Men's Basketball team fell to Mercy this evening in overtime.

Roberts was quick to get on the board with a jumper by Jamaal Carter, Mercy fought back and took the lead. Mercy would lead the rest of the half. The half would end with Roberts trailing 36 - 47.

The Redhawks would come back in the second half and would outscore Mercy. Roberts chiseled down the lead, William Bromirski cut the lead to two with two free throw. Bromirski took the lead for Roberts with a good three pointer assisted by Herbert Alexander Mercy would comeback to tie after a foul from the Redhawks to push the game to overtime.

Bromirski had a game high 31 points, he went 7 - 14 from beyond the arc.

Over time was close with the score tied a total of 3 times, but in the end Roberts would not be able to clinch the game. the final score was 87-85.

Other impact players for Roberts included Isaac Medeiros totaling 15 points. Tyrel Dixon notched a double double with 16 points and 14 rebounds, leading the Redhawks in rebounds. Senior Patrick Downer also scored 11 points for Roberts.

The Redhawks ended the game shooting 42% from the field 37.5% from beyond the arc and 75% from the line.

The loss drops Roberts record to 11-14, and 7-12 in the conference.

The Redhawks play their last season game this Sunday March 2nd against St Thomas Aquinas College.
