Men's Tennis Tramples RIT 8-1

Rochester, N.Y. (March 19, 2014)- The Men's Tennis team increased their record to 8-4 this season with an 8-1 Victory of the RIT Tigers this afternoon at RIT.

The Redhawks swept all three doubles matches to jump off to a 3-0 lead.  Senior Sam Thorold and Sophomore Charlie Farres ran their win streak at 1st doubles to 11 with a 8-2 win Their record this season now stands at 17-4 for the Redhawks.
 
Daub got RIT's only point with a 6-4. 6-2 win over the Redhawks at first singles. Julio Toledo clinched the victory with a 6-4. 6-2 win over Kevin Layer at fourth singles. Robert Beer and Emanuel Rauchle closed out the match with straight set victories at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

Coach Tom Linhart felt the match was closer than the score indicated and stated, "RIT always plays us tough.  They are well coached and play hard."
 
The Redhawks get a much needed break before starting ECC play a week from Saturday when they host Dowling College March 29th at 12PM.
