Men's Lacrosse Dominates in Win at Dominican (N.Y.), 17-7

HILLBURN, N.Y. (March 22, 2014) – The Men's Lacrosse team earned their first East Coast Conference road win of the season, defeating Dominican (N.Y.) College, 17-7.

After a somewhat slow start and a 2-1 lead after the first 15 minutes, the Redhawks reeled off five goals in the second quarter to go into halftime with a commanding 7-3 lead.

In the third quarter, Roberts Wesleyan scored another six goals to secure the victory.

Freshman attacker Mike Hubert led the way as he managed to score four goals while adding three assists for the Redhawks. Hubert has now scored four goals in three games this season and has 17 goals through six games.

Matt Benedict notched three goals for the Redhawks as Seth Miller and Dom Cianfarano scored two goals.

In goal, Matt Hamilton logged 53 minutes as he was called upon to make six saves.

The win puts Roberts Wesleyan at 5-1 overall and 2-1 in East Coast Conference action. The team's road swing continues next Saturday when they travel to North Canton, Ohio when they take on Walsh University at 1pm.
