Men's Lacrosse Drops to Dowling - Roberts Wesleyan University Athletics

Brookhaven, N.Y. (April 19, 2014) - The Men's Lacrosse team fell 8-20 to Dowling College this afternoon in conference play.

The Redhawks started a strong first quarter. Sophomore London Booker had his first unassisted goal minutes into the game. He would go on to total 2 goals for the game. The first quarter ended with Dowling up by one 5-4 in back and fourth play.

Roberts dropped off in the second quarter scoring only 2 to Dowlings 6 goals giving Dowling a staunch lead going into the second half. Freshman Matt Benedict scored both goals in the second quarter.

Roberts offense would dissipate in the second half, scoring only 2 goals. Dom Cianfarano scored two goals for the Redhawks and had the only and last goal in the fourth quarter. Fellow classmate Cody Lewis had 1 goal and 1 assist. Nick Wolak added 1 goal for Roberts.

Goalie Matt Hamilton had 16 saves.

The loss drops Roberts to 6-7 and 2-5 in the ECC. The Redhawks play again April 23 at Mercyhurst at 4pm.
