ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sep. 16, 2014) – The Volleyball team played their way to a three set win at home against rivals, Daemen, to start the conference portion of their schedule this evening. The match was also the home opener for Roberts Wesleyan.
Roberts Wesleyan used 12 kills each from middle blocker
Kendall Havener and outside hitter
Courtney Taylor while
Jordan Wilson added 10 more kills.
The match opened with the teams playing a back and forth in the first set, ending with Roberts Wesleyan winning 26-24. However, the second set started with Havener serving up three consecutive aces as the Redhawks never looked back taking the set, 25-11.
Daemen would recover in the third set, but it was enough as the Wildcats were unable to find the offense to respond to the Redhawks and a boisterous WHITEOUT crowd inside the Voller Athletic Center.
With the win, the Redhawks improve to 5-3 on the season and are 1-0 in East Coast Conference play.
Roberts Wesleyan now turns their attention this weekend as they host Bridgeport on Friday at 7pm and Dowling on Saturday at noon.
