Women’s Soccer Drops to No 17 Ranked Bridgeport

Bridgeport Conn. (September 19, 2014) – The women's Soccer team suffered a tough defeat in their conference opener against Bridgeport this evening.
 
The Redhawks went down two goals in the 18th and 26th minute. The first coming from a corner and the second off a rebounded header.
 
Bridgeport hammered Roberts Wesleyan's defense shooting 14 shots on goal. The Redhawk goalies Marissa Sell and Alyssa Jim combined for 10 saves in goal.
Bridgeport was dangerous in the air, scoring another goal three minutes into the second half off a cross. Their final goal came minutes later off a free kick.
The game was physical with 12 fouls against Roberts Wesleyan and 18 against Bridgeport as well as one yellow card
 
The loss puts the Redhawks at 3-2 going into a Sunday Conference game against Dowling College this Sunday September 21 at 12pm.
