Volleyball Falls at Home to Bridgeport

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sep. 19, 2014) – After taking the first set, Roberts Wesleyan dropped the following three sets to fall to Bridgeport at home this evening.

The Redhawks were competitive throughout against the visitors, who have now won four straight matches.

After dropping the second and third sets, Roberts Wesleyan looked to be in control of the fourth set as they held a 14-9 advantage. However, the Purple Knights rallied to take the lead 22-21 and would edge the Redhawks 26-24 to take the match.

For the Redhaws, Jordan Wilson had a spectacular night as she finished with 18 kills of off 35 attempts to finish with a .371 hitting percentage.

Courtney Taylor finished with 12 kills while Judy Schutlz added 10 for Roberts Wesleyan.

Defensively, Anjali Tomson assisted on five blocks while Kendall Havener assisted on four.

Bridgeport's Biljana Savic led both teams with 20 kills off of 45 attempts for a .311 hitting percentage.

With the loss, Roberts Wesleyan falls to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the ECC. The team will look to rebound tomorrow when they host Dowling at noon.
