Rochester, N.Y. ( September 27, 2014) – The Men's Soccer team faced a tough loss this afternoon 2-1 to the University of the District of Colombia in the Redhawks homecoming game.

Roberts Wesleyan had a lot of dangerous opportunities but were unable to convert them at all in the first half to goals. In the 36th minute District of Colombia had their first goal as an offender put the ball in the net from just inside the 18 yard box.

About 20 minutes into the second half the firebirds struck again. An offender struck the ball low into the nearside corner uncontested by Roberts Wesleyan's defense. The Redhawks rallied and in the 80th minute were able to put one in. Freshman Logan Wood headed a ball in off of a corner from Kehinde Aderounmu.

Goalie Michael Scavone made 3 saves and came out in key plays to stop the offense.

The loss puts Roberts Wesleyan at 4-2-2 and 1-1 in the ECC.

The Redhawks play at home again this Friday October 3rd in an ECC match up against St Thomas Aquinas at 7:30pm.
