Box Score

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sep. 6, 2014) – The Women's Soccer team cruised past the visiting Warriors of Nyack College, 7-3, this afternoon in non-conference action.

The Redhawks' Ellie Swan scored first in the 12th minute with a header after connecting on a pass from teammate Bella Mitrevski.

After Nyack evened the score in the 19th minute with a goal from Franseca Escobedo, Roberts Wesleyan scored the next six goals to take a commanding 6-1 lead mid-way through the second half. During that span, Mitrevski scored three-times while freshman Olra Martin added a brace while Swan added another to give her two goals in the game.

Mitrevski now leads the Redhawks with 11 points (4 goals, 3 assists) through two games. The forward holds a .500 shots on goal percentage after making a total of 14 shots.

Nyack then managed to add two more goals later in the game, but it proved to be too little as the Redhawks out-shot the Warriors 24 to 9.

In goal, Marissa Sell played the first 58 minutes before freshman Alyssa Jim played the rest of the way. Sell recorded three saves in the game.

Roberts Wesleyan, who improved to 2-0-0, will now have a week to prepare for #6 Saint Rose. The Golden Knights will visit on Sep. 13 for a 2pm match-up.
