DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Despite hot long-range shooting from Mercy (6-7, 1-5 ECC), the Redhawks managed to walk away with a 73-70 road win.
The win marks the first time Roberts Wesleyan (7-5, 3-3 ECC) has found themselves victorious inside Mercy Gymnasium in three tries against Mercy. The win also puts the Redhawks at 3-2 all-time against Mercy.

The Going Gets ToughAfter shooting out to a quick 10-0 lead to start the game, the Redhawks quickly found themselves trailing Mercy mid-way through the first half. The Mavericks took the lead when Tyshon Carter made a layup, giving his team a 14-13 edge.

Mavericks Take Commanding LeadEverything went Mercy's way as they shot 64.3 percent from beyond the arc, hitting 9 of 14 from three-point range. After going into halftime with a 40-29 lead, the Mavericks eventually led by 21 points with 13:01 remaining when Lazaro Martinez slammed home two of his 24 points.
Up to that point, only
Isaac Medeiros had scored more than 10 points for the Redhawks.

Roberts Wesleyan Chips Away at Massive DeficitThe visitors, who came into the game riding a two-game losing skid, finally found their form down the stretch, chipping away at the massive lead.
The Redhawks went on a 14-1 run over the next five minutes to cut lead to just eight points when
Jordan McBride converted a three-point play with a layup and an ensuing free-throw to put the score at 61-54.
With just 1:16 remaining,
Mike Stone managed to tie the game at 67, capping off a 9-2 run for the Redhawks.

Dixon Gives Redhawks the LeadJunior forward
Tyrel Dixon made a layup with just 44 seconds left to give Roberts Wesleyan a 69-67 lead. Dixon, who finished the game with 13 points, also hit a pair of free-throws in the final moments to help solidify the win for the Redhawks.
