OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan volleyball dropped a three-set match on the road this afternoon against NYIT, one of the top teams in the East Coast Conference.
The Redhawks stood toe-to-toe with NYIT in the first set as they led the Bears 23-22 before the home team managed to score the final four points. Roberts Wesleyan then struggled to keep their momentum, dropping the final sets with scores of 25-14 and 25-12.
Sophomore outside hitter
Courtney Taylor paced the visitors with a match-high 12 kills after recording a .344 hitting percentage. Taylor also notched a pair of service aces and five digs.
The result puts Roberts Wesleyan at 1-12 overall and 1-3 in conference play. The Redhawks will look to bounce back tomorrow at LIU Post with the match scheduled for 12 p.m.
