ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In a back-and-forth match, Roberts Wesleyan volleyball fell at home to NYIT in a five-set thriller.
The Redhawks took two of the first three sets before giving up the final two in just the third match of the season that the team has played to the deciding set.
Courtney Taylor paced Roberts Wesleyan with 13 kills as both
Kristina Button and
Kate Steger each added eight kills. Button finished the night with an effective .353 hitting percentage as she totaled the eight kills on just 17 attacks.
Freshman
Shelby Strausbaugh tallied four service aces for the Redhawks, which was just one off her season high, which came against Molloy last Saturday.
The team will look to close out their home schedule on a high note tomorrow when they entertain LIU Post at 12 p.m.
Roberts Wesleyan will also honor their lone departing senior,
Maggie Concannon, in a special pre-match ceremony.
