BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Leading from start to finish, Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball earned their first conference win of the season by defeating Bridgeport 79-68 Friday evening.
The Redhawks shot an even 50 percent from the field to surge past Bridgeport in their first East Coast Conference road game of the season.
How It HappenedRoberts Wesleyan was dominant from the get-go, taking a 16-4 lead less than six minutes into the game which set the tone for the rest of the game.
The Redhawks led by as much as 19 points late in the fourth quarter as four players scored 10 points or more.
Key StatThe Redhawks put together another strong effort from beyond the arc as the team hit 7 of 15, finishing the game shooting 46.7 percent from three-point rand.

"Courtney's" ImpactThe senior stuffed the stat sheet with another double-double effort by scoring a team-high 22 points and hauling in 11 rebounds. She also matched a team-high three assists and blocked two shots.

Courtney shot 53.3 percent from the field, going 8 of 15 on the night while also hitting her lone three-point attempt. At the free-throw line, the forward was an effective 5 of 7.
