ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball earned their fifth Wendy's College Classic title Saturday evening with a narrow 54-51 win over No. 2 seeds SUNY Geneseo.

The championship is the Redhawks' third straight as they have won 11 consecutive games in the tournament, which is in its final year.

With the victory, Roberts Wesleyan improved their perfect run to start the season to eight games.

How it Happened:
Roberts Wesleyan, playing as the No. 1 seed, led by as much as 17 points in the third quarter before the Knights stormed back in the fourth going on an 18-6 run to cut the score to a one point game with 31 seconds remaing.

However, a pair of free-throws from Brooke Fields and Taylor Bynoe was enough for the Redhawks to hang on to the win.

Key Stat:
Free throw shooting was the difference in the game as the Redhawks went 10 of 14 at the line while Geneseo was just 4 of 8.

- As a team, the Redhawks shot 35.7 percent, which was slightly better than Geneseo's 32.8 field goal percentage.
- Roberts Wesleyan's starting five were the primary points earners as the bench added just six points.

"Courtney's" Impact:
For the sixth time this season, Samantha Courtney picked up a double-double with 12 points and 10.

The senior forward was named the Classic's Most Valuable Player for her efforts, which included four blocked shots.
