SAINT LEO, Fla. (February 18, 2015) - In a close match up against Saint Leo (1-1), Roberts Wesleyan (2-0) came out on top with a 9-8 victory in double overtime.

Saint Leo scored back to back within the first three minutes giving them an early lead. Moments later, the Redhawks went on a 3-0 run in six minutes, putting them in the lead 3-2. With four minutes left in the first half, Saint Leo responded with a goal to tie it up.

As the second half began, the score continued to sway back and forth. Loren Dunn was the first to score in the second half for the Redhawks, putting them in the lead 4-3. With two minutes left in the game, the Redhawks found themselves in a rut and were down 5-7. Loren Dunn and Ali Fox quickly scored two goals to tie up the game and send them into overtime.

In the first overtime, the Redhawks continued to fight their way to the top. Half way through, Saint Leo scored, putting them back in the lead. Moments later, Ali Fox scored for the Redhawks, bring the score 8-8 and sending them into double overtime.

Within the first 20 seconds of double overtime, Dunn scored the game winning goal.

Loren Dunn led the team with six goals out of nine shots. Junior midfielder, Ali Fox, added three goals to help the Redhawks succeed in tonight's match.

In goal, Shannon Knapp did not let her team down. With Saint Leo out shooting Roberts Wesleyan 24-18, Knapp had 16 saves, giving her a .667 percentage.

The Redhawks will play at home againt Slippery Rock University on Saturday, February 28th at 12PM.
