Logan Wood proved to be the hero for Roberts Wesleyan this afternoon in a thrilling conference opening win outside of the nation's capital.
After leading 2-0 mid-way through the first half, District of Columbia scored three straight before Wood assisted on the equalizer in the 88
th minute to force extra time. Then, with less than two minutes expired, Wood sent the game-winner to the back of the next to earn the win.
Turning PointJohn Stewart's equalizing goal with a little over a minute remaining in regulation to force overtime. The header, which was sent in from Wood, was his first of the season.
Individual Leaders- Wood's three points (1 goal, 1 assist) was a team-high for the Redhawks.

John Ciavaglia salvaged the win by making five stops.
Inside the Box Score- Despite being heavily outshot 22 to 10, the Firebirds placed just eight shots on goal while Roberts Wesleyan had seven shots on frame.
- The visitors had just one corner kick in the game compared to District of Columbia's six.
News & Notes- The win is the second consecutive conference-opening win for Roberts Wesleyan. Last season, the Redhawks dominated Bridgeport, 3-0, at home.
- Nine players have now scored at least one goal thus far while 11 have at least one point.
- With the four goals, the Redhawks are now averaging 2.8 goals per game while holding their opponents to just 2.0 per game.
