SPARKILL, N.Y. – Late game heroics has been an ally for the Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer team as of late as they edged St. Thomas Aquinas in thrilling fashion this afternoon.
After trailing 1-0, the Redhawks equalized in the 85
th minute when
Scott Carson chipped a shot over the Spartans' keeper. Then, in the 89
th minute,
Malcolm Shaw converted a penalty kick to seal the win.
Last weekend, Roberts Wesleyan needed a pair of goals late in the game at District of Columbia as the Redhawks improve to 2-0 in the East Coast Conference.
Turning PointIn the final minute of regulation, Shaw converted the penalty kick after the St. Thomas Aquinas goalkeeper tripped up a player in the box.
Individual Leaders- Shaw paced the Redhawks with the goal while also assisting on Carson's first goal of the season.

John Ciavaglia was credited with eight saves in the win.
