ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer ran away with a resounding 6-1 result in the program's historic 1,000th game this evening. The season opener, which featured a festival atmoshpere and post-game fireworks, saw visiting Pitt-Johnstown overwhelmed from start to finish.
The Redhawks offense was on full display as five players managed to find the back of the net.Â
Garth Brungard led the way with two goals, both of which came in the first half.
Logan Wood,
Sam Moody,
Alex Loete, and
Will Cornfield all got in on the action, scoring the other four goals.Â
Turning PointAfter trailing 2-0, Pitt-Johnstown's D.J. Vogelman converted a pentaly kick in the 39
th minute of the first half to make it a one-goal lead for the Redhawks. However, just five minutes later Brungard sent a header to the back of the net in the 44
th minute to get the Redhawks back on track.
Individual Leaders-Â Wood, a sophomore, notched a pair of assists to go along with his first half goal.

Michael Scavone needed to make just one save in the first half to pick up the win.
Inside the Box Score-Â The Roberts Wesleyan defense effectively shut down the visitors, allowing just two of their six shots to be placed on frame.
