ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan soccer draws in their second game of the season after a suspenseful double overtime bout.
Junior
Malcolm Shaw scored the Redhawks lone goal in the 16
th minute of the first period off of an assist by
Garth Brungard. The Redhawks defense would keep the visiting Bald Eagles from scoring until the 87
th minute of the second half, when Lock Haven's Tyler Shumaker put one just past the fingertips of Redhawks goalkeeper
Michael Scavone.
Turning PointWith Lock Haven scoring late in the second half the Redhawks were hard pressed to have one of their four shots through both overtimes find the back of the net; leaving the score to be untouched until the games end.
Individual Leaders-
Michael McGinnis came up with two impactful headers on frame in the game to put Lock Havens goalkeeper on edge.
- Scavone came up with five huge saves throughout the game stopping Lock Havens last attempts in overtime.
Inside the Box Score- The Redhawks held possession for the majority of the game but were unable to find the game winner.
- Lock Haven's Shumaker scored on his only shot in the game.
News & Notes- This match was the first ever to be played between the Redhawks and the Bald Eagles.
