Roberts Wesleyan found their groove from beyond the arc to edge the Pioneers on the road

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Efficient shooting propelled Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball to a 62-52 road win against LIU Post Saturday afternoon, their 14th win of the season.

Lucy Covley led the Redhawks with a game-high 18 points after hitting four three-pointers as well as making all four of her free-throws.

How It Happened
The visitors took the lead for good with 4:56 remaining in the third quarter when Covley drained a three-pointer giving the Redhawks a 36-35 advantage.

Roberts Wesleyan managed to hold off the Pioneers the rest of the way as LIU Post kept the deficit at 10 points or less the rest of the way.

After a three-game stretch of poor three-point shooting, Roberts Wesleyan came alive against the Pioneers, going 8 of 15 to finish the game with a 53.3 three-point field goal shooting percentage.

The sophomore found her groove from long range as four of her five field goals came from beyond the arc. Covley was also a perfect 4 of 4 at the line as the team ended the game shooting 82.4 percent at the charity stripe.

The guard also had a blocked shot and a steal on the defensive side.
