DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball fell on the road to Mercy, 88-83, Thursday evening as senior guard
Mike Stone scored his 1,000
th career point.
Stone, who came into the game needing just four points to reach the milestone, scored 16 points for the Redhawks while posting a team-high four assists. The senior is now the 26
th player in program history to score more than 1,000 career points.
How It HappenedAfter trailing by 11 points with 6:55 remaining in the game, Roberts Wesleyan managed to trim the Mavericks' lead to just one point with 15 seconds left after
Tyrel Dixon slammed two of his six points home.
However, Mercy hit four free-throws in the final moments to secure the win, giving them the season sweep over the Redhawks.
Key StatThe Mavericks shot slightly better as they finished the game with a 50.0 field goal shooting percentage compared to Roberts Wesleyan's even 47.7 percent from the field.
Inside the Numbers- Stone now has 1,012 career points to his credit with six more games left in the season.

Malik Dare picked up his third double-double of the season after scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Dwayne Roberts both came off the bench to score 14 and 13 points respectively.

"Dare's" ImpactThe sohpomre forward shot 70.0 percent from the field, going 7 of 10 while making 2 of 3 at the line en route to scoring his 16 points, which is just one shy of his season high.

Dare also helped the Redhawks on the boards grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking one shot.
