HAMPTON, Va. – Playing the role of spoilers, Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse earned a historic 20-3 win at Hampton Saturday afternoon to open the season.
Hampton, a Division I team that is in its first year as a varsity program, is the first HBCU to field a men's lacrosse team at the highest level.
Dom Cianfarano paced the Redhawks with six goals and an assist as
Matt Benedict dished out six assists while scoring once.
Turning PointRoberts Wesleyan stunned the Pirates early on by scoring the game's first 10 goals. After Hampton got one back less than a minute into the second quarter, the Redhawks reeled off another five goals to take a commanding 15-1 lead.
Individual Leaders-
Seth Miller added two goals and three assists in addition to winning all 21 face-offs against the Pirates.

Adam Doviak and
Zac Sapor each tallied three caused turnovers.
- In goal,
Keith Keehn made five stops to earn the win.
