SPARKILL, N.Y. – After a slow start, Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball fell on the road Saturday afternoon at St. Thomas Aquinas, 54-43.
 
Lucy Covely was the leading scorer for the Redhawks with 12 points.  

How It Happened
The Redhawks came out sluggish to start the game as St. Thomas Aquinas ended the first 10 minutes with a decisive 18-5 lead.
 
Both teams traded blows the rest of the way, but the hole was too much for Roberts Wesleyan to dig out of.

The Redhawks shot just 20.8 percent from the field, scoring a season low 43 points.

Inside the Numbers
- Samantha Courtney fell one point shy of a double-double as she grabbed 11 rebounds and nine points, seven of which came at the free-throw line.
- Both teams committed 19 turnovers as the Redhawks made four steals while the Spartans were credited with six steals.
- The loss snapped Roberts Wesleyan's five-game winning streak
