ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball cruised to a 107-84 win over NYIT Friday evening as
Marcus Gooding set a new program record after draining 10 three-pointers.
The senior guard, who has previously made nine three-pointers on two occasions, led the Redhawks with his 35 points after going 10 of 13 from beyond the arc and 11 of 18 overall.
As a team, Roberts Wesleyan also set a program record with a total of 20 made three-pointers, breaking the record by two shots.
Zack Panebianco chipped in 17 points in the winning effort as he drained 4 of 6 from three-point range while
Mike Stone scored 15 points, nine of which came in the three-point variety.
Underneath, forward
Malik Dare scored 16 points while grabbing nine rebounds as
Tyrel Dixon dished out a career-high 13 assists.
The win snapped a three-game skid for the Redhawks, putting them at 7-16 overall and 4-13 in the ECC. Roberts Wesleyan is back in action Sunday afternoon when they host LIU Post on Senior Day. Tip-off is 4 p.m.
