WASHINGTON, D.C. - Playing in the program's first-ever East Coast Conference championship game, Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball fell to No. 2 seed Queens Sunday afternoon, 60-54, ending their ECC tournament run.
The Redhawks will now await their NCAA fate as they currently sit on the bubble for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship.
How It HappenedThe No. 4 seeded Redhawks never led in the game trailing as much as 17 points early in the fourth quarter, but put together rally for a nail-biting finish.
Over the final eight minutes of the game, Roberts Wesleyan managed to whittle Queens' lead to just three points after outscoring the Knights 19-5, making it a 57-54 ball game with just 16 seconds remaining.
Needing to foul in the waning moments, the Redhawks were unable to get any closer as Queens went 3 of 4 at the line to secure their second consecutive conference title.
Key StatPoor free-throw shooting by Roberts Wesleyan was the key for Queens as the Redhawks finished the game 13 of 22 from the charity stripe.

Samantha Courtney led with 16 points.
Taylor Bynoe added a season-high 15 points while
Brooke Fields chipped in 12 points.
- Queens' MacKenzie Rowland was a force on the offensive glass as she grabbed six offensive rebounds and 19 total boards.

- Both Courtney and Fields were both named to the ECC All-Tournament team.
"Courtney's" ImpactCourtney, a senior, notched her 17
th double-double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds to help the Redhawks keep things close down the stretch.
The forward did a little bit of everything, even sinking a three-pointer during the rally in the fourth quarter.
Overall, Courtney went 6 of 13 from the field including 1 of 2 from beyond the arc while blocking four shots and making a steal.
