Men’s Soccer Draw Against Bentley After 2 OT

Rochester, N.Y. - Two overtime periods couldn't determine a winner between the Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer team and Bentley University as the game concluded in a 1-1 draw.

Junior Sam Moody scored the Redhawk's lone goal of the game in the 22nd minute off a driven cross from John Stewart. The Pickering, Ontario native calmly headed the ball away past the goalie to give Roberts the 1-0 lead.

Bentley tied the game in the 66th minute after a foul was called on freshman Elijah Jarvis when a Falcon's offensive player was taken down in the box. Sean Sullivan took the penalty kick and put it past starting goalkeeper John Ciavaglia.

The first overtime period saw several near scoring opportunities for Bentley but none were able to find the back of the net. The second overtime period flipped the possession and saw Roberts Wesleyan nearly come away with the game-winner after three dangerous crosses in the box connected with the head of a Redhawk player resulting in the ball going either just high or just wide of the net.

Roberts Wesleyan (1-6-1) had 19 shots in the game with ten on frame. Bentley fired off 18 shots with five on net. The Redhawks also added in 14 corner kick opportunities.

The Redhawks look to get back on the winning track when they face Molloy College for conference action on Friday at 7 p.m.
