Men’s Basketball Takes Loss at Molloy

Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team fell to 2-17 on the season and 1-9 in the East Coast Conference following a 64-77 loss to Molloy College on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Manny Joseph led the Redhawks with 16 points and seven rebounds on 7-of-15 (46.7%) shooting.

In the first half Roberts fell behind 23-11 with 11:28 remaining, but a three-pointer by Quinn Carey sparked a run for the Redhawks, as they were able to close within one point of the lead with under five minutes to play in the half. Molloy adjusted to Roberts' offensive attack and held the Redhawks to just two points in the final five minutes of play while extending the lead to ten before the halftime buzzer.

Joseph began the second half with a three pointer and then a layup while Malik Dare also added five points to again cut the Lion's lead to just one point. But the Redhawks were never able to overcome the deficit and take the lead as Molloy controlled the lead throughout the entire contest.

Roberts gave up twelve offensive rebounds in the game leading to 16 points and was outrebounded 45-33 in total.

The Redhawks prepare to host the District of Columbia on Wednedsay for an 8 p.m. tipoff. The game begins a stretch of four straight home conference games.
