Rochester, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team hit 15 three-pointers on their way to a 84-60 win over Mercy College on Wednesday night in East Coast Conference action.

Freshman guard
Taya Andrews had a big first half with 18 points to lead the Redhawks. She finished with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 from long range.

The Redhawks dominated the third quarter outscoring the Mavericks 31-13. In the quarter Roberts shot over 70-percent from the field and was 6-of-8 from three-point range. Six different players hit from long range. At the 4:52 mark, freshman guard
Sara Nady hit a three-pointer to put the Redhawks up 57-37.
Kindsay Brandt hit a deep shot the next trip down the floor followed by a Brook Fields the following trip down. A last second layup by Nady gave the Redhawks a 30 point lead heading into the final period of play.

A high-pressure defense gave Mercy fits all game as they totaled 19 turnovers in the game. Junior guard
Necedah James had three of Robert's 11 steals in the game as the Redhawks turned those steals into 25 points.

The Mavericks were led by Latisha Clark who managed a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Both Brandt and James had 11 points on the night. Fields, a junior, added 13 points to put her over the 1,000 point mark in her career.Â

The Redhawks (9-5) will travel to face LIU Post on Saturday. The game is slated for 1:30 p.m.
