BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team dropped its sixth game of the season on Saturday after losing to East Coast Conference opponent LIU Post, 89-76.

Despite leading 39-33 at the half the Redhawks couldn't provide consistent offense in the second half as they were outscored 56-37 leading to the loss. The third quarter proved to be the turning point in the game as LIU Post came out to score the first seven points of the second half and take a 40-39 lead. The Redhawks were just 2-of-20 (20%) shooting in the third quarter with only eight points scored.

"We battled, but shooting two for twenty in the third quarter really hurt us," said head coach
Gary Andrews. "We had several layups and open shots that we just couldn't connect on."

The fourth quarter saw the Pioneers control the lead with their three-point shooting hitting five in the quarter. The team was 9-for-13 (69.2%) from long range in the second half alone while the usually hot shooting Redhawks were just 4-of-15 (26.7%) from beyond the arc and 12-of-42 (28.6%) from the field.

Junior guard
Brooke Fields led the scoring effort for Roberts Wesleyan scoring 25 points. For LIU Post, senior guard Kylie Garrett also dropped in 25 points.

The Redhawks shot 27-of-74 (36.5%) in the game and 10-of-25 (40%) from three-point range.
