ROCHESTER, N.Y. – With the newly placed stands filled to capacity the Roberts Wesleyan men's and women's swim teams hosted their first ever swim meet in program history on Saturday afternoon in the Voller Athletic Center. The Redhawks took on Genesee Community College in a dual meet that saw the women's team come out on top by a 98-68 margin and the men's team fall by a score of 136-36.
On the women's side, freshman
Jesse Gunn came away with two first place finishes. The Dansville, N.Y. native won the 1,000 yard freestyle in a time of 12:24.96 and the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:01.20.
Freshman
Julia Barnwell took first place in the 200 yard freestyle (2:22.34) and second in the 100 yard butterfly (1:17.55). Also getting a first place finish for the Redhawks was freshman Anna Vorderbrueggen who won the 100 yard freestyle (1:03.74).
In the men's action
Joshua Moore took home two second place finishes. The junior posted times of 2:18.18 in the 200 yard freestyle and 1:34.26 in the 100 yard butterfly.
The Redhawks will have a break until January 19
th when they will go up against Erie Community College.
