HAMPTON, Va. - The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team opened its 2017 season with a 20-8 dominating win over Hampton University on Friday afternoon.

Three different players scored three goals apiece for the Redhawks in the win. Those scoring were senior
Alex Bianchi, senior
Jordan Crusha, and freshman
AJ Hemms.

The Redhawks fell behind 3-1 late in the first quarter but rallied to score the next six goals with four of those coming with under four minutes remaining in the first quarter.

With 9:43 remaining in the third quarter
Brady Martin's goal began a stretch of eight straight goals for Roberts that spanned late into the fourth quarter of play.

Collin Waden and
Cody Menzies both had three assists for the Redhawks.

In the net, senior
Keith Keehn made nine saves on the day.

Roberts Wesleyan outshot Hampton 36-26 while putting 25 of those shots on goal.

The Redhawks are back in action on Sunday when they face Lees-Mcrae College at 2 p.m.
