ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team dropped its first East Coast Conference contest of the season after falling to NYIT on Saturday afternoon, 15-11.

Alex Bianchi scored two goals on the day and added two assists to lead the offense for the Redhawks. The senior attacker also led the team in shot attempts with ten.

Roberts fell into a deficit early on when NYIT scored the game's first three goals. Freshman
AJ Hemms answered with a goal to get the Redhawks on the board.

Down 4-1 with 6:49 remaining in the first quarter Roberts used a three goal run to tie things up at 4-4 early in the second quarter. Scoring was
Brady Martin,
Jordan Crusha and
Cody Menzies.

The Bears had were able to capitalize on man up situations and scored four straight goals in the second quarter to create an 8-4 cushion. NYIT used another four goal rally late in the second quarter and into the start of the third to build a 12-6 lead. The Bears would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game.

Both teams had 18 turnovers in the game, but NYIT found the advantage on offense getting 30 shots on goal compared the Redhawks 17 shots on net. Goalkeeper
Keith Keehn made 15 saves in net.

Roberts Wesleyan (4-3, 1-1 ECC) will travel to take on Mercy College next Saturday at 11 a.m.
