ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team couldn't complete its second half comeback on Tuesday night as they fell to Edinboro University, 9-8.

The Redhawks fell behind 7-2 in the first half but rallied in the second half to outscore the Fighting Scots 6-2. With 25 seconds left to play in the game a goal by
Emily Knight cut the Edinboro lead to just one.
Johannah Price had an opportunity to tie the game with three seconds left to play when she was awarded a free position shot, but her shot was blocked preserving the second win of the season for Edinboro.

"I liked the intensity our team came out with in the second half," head coach
Kristin Concordia said. "They put up a good fight to get back into the game. We just need to play with that intensity for a full 60 minutes to put ourselves in a better situation to win."

Cassley Jackowski had three goals and one assist to lead the Redhawks.
Maddi Chille added a goal and an assist.

Roberts out-shot Edinboro 31-19 in the game while also edging the Fighting Scots out in the ground ball category, 15-14.

Roberts Wesleyan (6-10, 3-4 ECC) will host Bridgeport on Saturday, April 29 at noon for a pivotal matchup that could have East Coast Conference playoff implications. The Redhawks currently sit in the sixth spot in the ECC standings behind Molloy (4-2 ECC).
