Late Goal Halts Men's Soccer's Comeback

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A late second half goal spoiled the Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer team's comeback attempt against Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon, as the Redhawks lost 3-2.

After being down 2-1 late into the second half freshman midfielder Marko Mitrevski knotted the score up at 2-2 in the 81st minute with a laser shot from 18 yards out into the top left corner of the net. It was Mitrevski's first career collegiate goal. The assist came from senior Scott Carson.

The tie score didn't last long though as the Griffins tucked away the game winner just three minutes later in the 84th minute. The goal was credited to Tom Urquhart when his pass across the goal line was deflected in by a Roberts' defender. It was Urquhart's second goal of the game. His first came in the 76th minute off a feed from Louis Mason.

The Redhawks were again playing from behind for the majority of the game. Seton Hill got on the board first when they converted on a penalty kick off a controversial foul call in the Roberts' defensive box.

Senior defender Sam Moody was the other goal scorer for the Redhawks. His goal in the 33rd minute was assisted on by both Mitrevksi and John Stewart. Mitrevksi's corner was deflected from Stewart on to Moody who beat the keeper just under the crossbar.

Roberts falls to 0-2 on the season and will head to Syracuse, N.Y. on Monday to face the Dolphins of Le Moyne College. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m.
