Women's Basketball Wins at Queens, 79-67

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team used a strong second half to defeat Queens College on the road, 79-67.
 
The Redhawks outscored the Knights 43-33 in the second half and used a 14-4 run in the third quarter to build an 11 point lead. In the fourth quarter Roberts did not allow the Knights to score for the first four minutes and did not allow a field goal until the 4:44 mark of the final period. The Redhawks extended their lead to 19 points with less than four minutes to go in the game.
 
Necedah James led the scoring attack for Roberts with 19 points. The senior also had four assists and two steals on the night. Emily Miller posted a career high 17 rebounds and finished with 12 points, three assists, three blocks and two steals.
 
The Redhawks were excellent from long range, shooting 9 of 17 (52.9%) from three point distance while also connecting on nearly 44-percent from the field. The defense held Queens to 36-percent shooting from the field and under 30-percent from beyond the arc.
 
Roberts Wesleyan (12-6, 6-2 ECC) will play away at Molloy on Sunday for a noon time tip-off.
