DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team finished the regular season with a win on the road against Mercy this past weekend, 3-1.
Junior
Rachel Holmes led the Redhawks on both sides of the ball recording 13 kills and 13 digs.
As a team, the Redhawks posted a .271 hitting percentage on the day getting 59 kills on 155 attempts. Mercy had 51 kills on 157 attempts for a .197 hitting percentage.
After winning the first set 27-25 and the second set 25-21, the Mavericks would try and fight their way back into the match by taking the third set 25-20. The final set of the match would be a battle on both sides of the court. A five-point rally would help ease the pressure on the Redhawks as they lead 19-15. After trading points back and forth, Roberts would take the final set 25-23.
Some other notable performances from the Redhawks include a two aces, 46 assists, and 3 blocks from freshman Lauren Chase. Sophomore
Grace Detwiler also recorded 13 kills and one ace.
Roberts Wesleyan finishes the 2018 season with a 5-18 overall record and a 4-10 ECC conference record.
