Redhawks Fall Short in Thruway Rivalry Game at Daemen

AMHERST, N.Y.Manny Joseph turned in his best game of the season on Friday night for the conference matchup against red hot Daemen, but it wasn't enough as the Wildcats came away with their 12th win in 13 games, winning 77-70.

Joseph posted an impressive stat line of 25 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and three steals while playing all 40 minutes.

The Redhawks cut a 12 point second half Daemen lead and took a one point lead of their own after Joseph's steal and breakaway dunk with 7:16 left in the game put the Redhawks up 59-58. The Wildcats answered and built a six point cushion led by freshman Andrew Sischo who led the Wildcats with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Three late game turnovers were costly as the Redhawks had opportunities to regain the lead with under two minutes to play. Both teams had 13 turnovers in total.

Malik Dare also played his best game of the season finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds. The senior made his presence known in the second half scoring all his points.

Roberts Wesleyan has now lost three straight East Coast Conference games and is now 14-9 and 7-7 in the ECC. They will host Queens College and Molloy College this weekend for the final two home games of the season. The Redhawks sit one game behind LIU Post in the conference standings in the No. 5 spot. The two teams will meet in the final game of the regular season. Roberts holds the edge after beating the Pioneers at home back on January 14th.
