NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's lacrosse team won its first road game of the season on Tuesday with an 8-6 win over Newberry College.
 
Alex Bianchi led the Redhawks with three goals and nine shots on goal. Gavin Marsh added two goals and one assist.
 
After giving up the first goal of the game the Redhawks responded with a four goal rally in the first quarter.
 
With an 8-4 lead late in the fourth quarter Newberry was able to get two goals back to cut the Redhawks lead to just two goals. But the comeback attempt was too late and the Redhawks went on with the 8-6 victory.
 
Roberts edged out Newberry in groundballs with the Redhawks getting 26 and the Wolves picking up 24.
 
Next up for the Redhawks is a Thursday night matchup vs Davis and Elkins College. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Elkins, Va.
