ROCHESTER, N.Y. –
Taylor Nathan had a career-best day to lead the Roberts Wesleyan women's lacrosse team to a dominating 15-7 win over East Coast Conference foe Saint Thomas Aquinas on Saturday afternoon.
Efficiency was the definition of Nathan's game as the freshman took seven total shots, all of them resulting in a goal. Nathan also added an assist in the defeat of the Spartans.
The Redhawks conceded a goal in the first minute of the game but it was all the home team from then on with Roberts answering with six straight goals. At the half the Redhawks held a 10-2 advantage.
In the second half the Redhawks continued to control possession while also scoring five more goals, including three from Nathan and two from
Emily Knight. The junior also dished out three assists.
On defense the Redhawks got production from
Tiffany Melendez who totaled six ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Roberts Wesleyan (6-3, 2-1 ECC) will head on the road after playing the last five games on home turf. The Redhawks will take on Lake Erie College on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
