ERIE, Pa. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's tennis team fell to Mercyhurst 9-0 at the Pennbriar Athletic Club on Sunday.
The Redhawks struggled to get things going in the doubles matches with the closest match being played at the No. 3 spot with
Harmeet Luthra and
Mathew Cruz losing 8-4.
In singles play
Guido Janssen played a tough match at the No. 2 slot. The freshman won the first set 7-5, but lost the second set 6-2 and eventually dropped the tie breaking set 13-11.
Roberts is now 4-6 overall after dropping the last five matches in a rugged schedule against top-ranked opponents. The Redhawks will enter league play on Friday when they take on Saint Thomas Aquinas.
