ROCHESTER, N.Y. - This year's graduating seniors,
Dustin Eshleman,
Jose Carrillo and
Hugo Ball-Greene won both their singles and doubles matches as the Roberts Wesleyan men's tennis team defeated University of the Sciences, 8-1 on senior day at Midtown Athletic Club.
After sweeping all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead, Ball-Greene defeated Barna Novak at first singles in straight sets. Freshman
Guido Janssen, who team with Ball-Greene for a win at first doubles then clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Nathan Nguyen at second singles. Carillo, after winning third doubles with Matt Cruz, then won in straight sets at third singles and
Andrew Freeman picked up an impressive win over Ramesh Chamala, 6-3, 6-4 at sixth singles. Eshlemen, who had teamed with
Dennis Barlotta to win second doubles then closed out the scoring with a win at fifth singles.Â
"This was a nice way to finish the season," said head coach
Tom Linhart. "We really appreciated all the fan support."
The Redhawks finished the season with a 5-15 overall record and 0-5 conference mark.Â
