Swimming Joins Metropolitan Swimming Conference

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan men's and women's swim teams will now have a conference to compete in after the program was accepted into the Metropolitan Swim Conference. Roberts will be the 21st team to join the METS conference.

"I'm thrilled for the opportunity to join a conference and I think by doing this our program will launch itself into a reputable and competitive collegiate swimming and diving program," said head coach Sara Smith. "While the competition will be tough, our returning student-athletes along with the addition of 10 new student-athletes this fall will put us in a great position to not just swim fast, but to place and score at the METS Championships."

METS is a large open conference that includes teams from NCAA Division I, II and III in and around the New York area. The teams have the opportunity to compete in a year end Championship meet held at Rutgers University.

"We want to thank Charles Lampasso and the Metropolitan Swimming Conference for the opportunity to compete in this conference," said Bob Segave, Director of Athletics. "We are excited for our program and for the opportunity that membership in the METS will provide for our student-athletes."

The Roberts Wesleyan swim program completed its inaugural season during the 2017-18 academic year and will head into their second season with diving be added to the program.
