AMHERST, N.Y. – A lone second-half goal was the difference in a 1-0 loss to Daemen College on Saturday afternoon as the Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer team moves to a 2-2-3 overall and 0-1-1 conference record.
While the Redhawks outshot the Wildcats with 11 shots versus Daemen's six, Roberts only managed to get four on goal. A goal in the 57
th minute by Wildcats defender Giacomo Bacigalupo would be the only one the "Thruway Rival" would need to secure the victory. The Redhawks were able to find some success in possessing the ball in the opposing end but couldn't' capitalize on any scoring opportunities.
Sophomore forward
Johanz Tusiime led the Redhawks offensively with three shots and one on goal while senior goalkeeper
Ben Hastings played the entire game and had two saves.
Roberts will be on the road again this week as they travel to the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia, Pa.) to face Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday, September 26. This game is scheduled to start at 2 PM.
