WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's tennis team suffered their first defeat of the season on Friday at the hands of ECC opponent University of the District of Columbia held at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center in D.C.
Marousia Bosch and
Laura Freeman scored a 6-3 win over Anastasia Khomyachenko and Estefania Castrillon at No. 3 doubles.
The Firebirds won at first and second doubles to clinch the one doubles point. UDC then went on to win all six singles matches. The tightest match of the day was played at No. 1 singles where Simone Park of the Firebirds defeated
Nthabi Mogopodi 6-3, 3-6, 10-3.
The 3-1 Redhawks are now 1-1 in ECC play. Roberts continues their four day road trip on Saturday when they travel to Millersville University.
