Women’s Basketball Takes Down Molloy, 74-56

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan Women's Basketball team got the win against conference opponent Molloy College on Sunday afternoon, 74-56.

The Redhawks finished the day by going 28-for-64 (44%) from the field, 8-for-22 (36%) from three-point range, and 10-for-15 (67%) from the charity stripe. On the other side of the ball, the Lions went 19-for-57 (33%) from the field and 6-for-10 (60%) from the free throw line.

Roberts was lead by junior Emily Miller's 26 points. The Buffalo, N.Y. native also added eight rebounds and five steals. Right behind Miller was junior forward Tashyala Sutorius. Sutorius, who came up with 11 points, four rebounds, and five assists contributed in several key moments that lead to the Redhawks win.

The Redhawks would end up leading the entire first half after being ahead by 10 points at one point in the action. The second half would stand to be all Roberts as the Redhawks would go on to lead by 12 at the end of the third quarter after a couple of made layups in the paint by Emily Miller and freshman Dmitra Gkizani. The Lions would try to fight back in the fourth quarter but would be unsuccessful, as a late three-point dagger from Miller and a layup from Jessie Cooke would seal up the victory.

The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team (6-9, 2-3 ECC) will take on the University of Bridgeport on Friday, January 18. Tip-off for this conference road matchup is set to begin at 5 PM.
