BRIDGEPORT, CT. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team pulled off the road win against ECC opponent The University of Bridgeport on Friday evening. 
 
The Redhawks would end the night by going 27-for-66 (41%) from the field, 8-for-24 (33%) from three-point range, and 4-for-12 (33%) from the foul line. The Purple Knights finished 26-for-68 (38%) from the field and 7-for-24 (29%) from three-point territory.
 
Some notable performances from Friday's competition include junior Emily Miller's 24-point double double. On top of her scoring, Miller added 13 rebounds. Junior guard Sara Nady also added 13 points, six rebounds, and three steals on the night. 
 
The first quarter seemed to be a battle that went back and forth as Roberts immediately answered every point scored by the Purple Knights. Tashyala Sutorius' layup in the paint with 00:11 would tie it up 14-14 at the end of one. The Redhawks would end the first half leading by one point with a score of 33-32.
 
The second half would happen almost exactly as the quarter prior as the Redhawks and Purple Knights battled for the lead but would end the third quarter all tied up at 48 points a piece. 
 
Both teams would go scoreless for an entire three minutes in the fourth quarter until a three-pointer from Nady got the Redhawks going. With 00:12 left, Roberts would take a seven point lead with a free throw from senior Taylor Bynoe, eventually leading to a five point win. The final score would be 66-61. 
 
The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team (7-9, 3-3 ECC) will face Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY on Sunday, January 20. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 PM.
