ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team couldn't come up with the win against Saint Anselm College on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks took the 74-62 win at the Voller Athletic Center.
The Redhawks ended the day going 24-for-56 (43%) from the field, 3-for-10 (30%) from three-point range, and 11-for-17 (65%) on free throws. The Hawks of Saint Anselm ended the day shooting 24-for-56 (43%) from the field, and 6-for-14 (43%) on three point attempts.
Some notable performances from the Redhawks include
Tashayla Sutorius' 16 points. Sutorius also added six rebounds and five assists on the day. Junior forward
Emily Miller finished by scoring 13 points, and recorded six rebounds as well.
The Redhawks would trail Saint Anselm the whole first half but would fight their way back in the second half. After an 11-point deficit at halftime, the Redhawks would fight their way back to within two points of the Hawks early in the fourth quarter thanks to a pair of layups in the paint from
Sara Nady and
Tashayla Sutorius. The Hawks would eventually capitalize on drawn fouls and made free throws to take the win.
Next up for the Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team is a matchup against Queens College on Friday, January 11. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM.
