ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior
Terrell Spencer and sophomore
Dylan Ruiz each scored a pair of goals to lead the Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 5-1 win over Chestnut Hill on Wednesday night.
The Redhawks dominated the game offensively picking up the first goal of the game in the 4th minute from Spencer. The goal was assisted on by Ruiz. Then the sophomore scored a goal of his own in the in the 33rd minute off the feed from
Alex Perez Vega.
Chestnut Hill got a goal back just eight minutes later but it would be the only goal of the game for the visitors.
Ruiz and Spencer both added a second half goal followed by a final goal in the 90th minute from
Jeremiah Ochepo.
Spencer finished with two goals and an assist while Ruiz had two goals and two assists.
Starting goalkeeper
Jared Gibbons made six saves in net.
Roberts Wesleyan (9-5-1, 5-1 ECC) face the toughest challenge on the season on Saturday when they play away at Mercy College. The Mavericks currently sit in third place in the conference with a 4-2 record and 11-3-2 overall record. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
